Sue Hutchinson is Associate Professor in Human Resource Management (HRM) at the University of the West of England, where she is also Associate Head of the HRM teaching and research group. Her main research interests focus on the role of line managers in HRM, the relationship between people management and... read moreperformance and she has authored many publications including journal articles, reports and books on these subjects. She has also provided advice to government and professional bodies on the role of line managers in HRM. Previous work experiences include research and teaching at Bath University, policy advisor for the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and industrial relations advisor in the paper industry. In 2013 she authored a book on Performance Management: Theory and Practice.
